Who can purchase travel packages on the Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO) website?

During the ACF priority offer period – 24 February (midday AEDT) to 28 February 2010 (5pm AEDT), only Australian residents, who are members of the Australian Cricket Family, can book. From 1 March (midday AEDT), Cricket Australia Travel Office bookings are available to all Australian and non UK residents.

Why should I book with the Cricket Australia Travel Office?

As the official travel operator for the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11, the Cricket Australia Travel Office (CATO) takes the stress out of finding accommodation packages which are inclusive of guaranteed match tickets. No hassles or concerns about securing tickets, ours come direct from Cricket Australia to you.

I am travelling from the UK, how do I book?

The Cricket Australia Travel Office has appointed a selection of official Licensed Travel Operators based in the UK, to assist with travel arrangements to Australia. These Operators have been licensed to promote and sell travel packages inclusive of guaranteed match tickets and accommodation. Click here for a list of official UK Licensed Travel Operators.

How do I know if my UK Travel Operator has access to guaranteed match tickets?

Each Cricket Australia Travel Office Licensed Travel Operator has access to guaranteed match tickets, and will display a CATO licence number on all promotional collateral. Click here for a list of official UK Licensed Travel Operators.

We have become aware that a number of travel operators in the UK are purportedly promoting the inclusion of match tickets in their travel packages without having authorised or legitimate access to such tickets. England supporters contemplating travelling to Australia for the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11 should be aware that only CATO licensed travel operators in the UK (those who display a CATO licence number on their advertising material or website) have legitimate access to match tickets.

If you have any doubt in relation to the authenticity of a travel package or whether a travel operator is officially licensed by CATO, please contact CATO.
Tickets purchased via unauthorised agents may be subject to cancellation.

What do the packages include?

Packages include accommodation and tickets, plus a CATO Vodafone Ashes hat and a Welcome Function. A choice of 2 day/3 night or 5 day/6 night packages are available.

  • 2 day/3 night packages include a ticket for the first 2 days of the Test and 3 nights of accommodation
  • 5 day/6 night packages include a ticket for all 5 days of the Test and 6 nights of accommodation


Packages are not Tickets only. If you want to only purchase tickets (and not accommodation) to the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11, there will be an ACF priority ticket offer period in July 2010. The Cricket Australia Travel Office WILL NOT be able to sell you tickets only through this current travel packages offer.

Which days/nights are included in the 2 day / 3 night package?

The 2 day / 3 night package includes day 1 and day 2 of your selected Vodafone Ashes Test plus three nights accommodation commencing the night before the first days play.

There are a limited number of 2 day / 3 night packages available at each venue.

Which days/nights are included in the 5 day / 6 night package?

The 5 day / 6 night package includes all 5 days of your selected Vodafone Ashes Test plus six nights accommodation commencing the night before the first days play.

Can I change the days / nights included in my package?

Vodafone Test match tickets and accommodation nights cannot be adjusted, however additional nights accommodation can be added to your package if required. Contact us with your request.

I don't need accommodation, can I still purchase Vodafone Ashes Test match tickets?

Cricket Australia Travel Office does not sell tickets only to the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11 outside of the travel packages listed on this website.

I am travelling with family/friends not requiring an accommodation package, can I purchase extra tickets for them?

Cricket Australia Travel Office does not sell tickets only to the Vodafone Ashes Series 2010-11 outside of the travel packages listed on this website. We cannot guarantee that additional tickets to families and friends purchased at a later date will be located in proximity to those provided via tickets sold through travel packages.

How do I make special requests for my package?

To make a special request, contact us prior to making your booking online. Cricket Australia Travel Office will then assess your request and advise what is possible in relation to your booking.

Do the packages include flights? What about breakfast?

Packages listed on the website do not include flights or meals, contact us with your request.

What ticket categories do the packages include?

Most packages include your choice of Silver or Gold reserved seating. There is limited Platinum seating at each venue available for inclusion in travel packages, contact us for pricing and availability.

Where are the tickets located?

Seating maps will become available in March / April, locations are not available prior to this time. In the meantime, the Cricket Australia Travel Office is able to provide the following guide to seating locations:

  • Silver: side on to the wicket or further back from the field, often receive little or no shade.
  • Gold: behind the bowlers arm or at a slight angle, receive shade for some part of the day, if available.
  • Platinum: The best seats available for the public at the ground. Usually slightly elevated, behind the bowlers arm and in the shade.
What are the booking conditions?

What is the maximum number of packages I can book?

A maximum of 4 people per Test can be booked via the Cricket Australia Travel Office website. If you are booking for more than 4 people, please contact us for assistance.

How will I receive my booking confirmation?

On completion of your booking, a message will be displayed on the screen quoting your booking reference number and an email will be sent directly to you, confirming your booking particulars. You should record in a safe place your booking reference number.

What do I do if I have not received my booking confirmation?

If you do not receive the confirmation email within 24 hours, please contact us and quote your booking reference number.

How will I receive my tickets and package documentation?

All packages are subject to a Cricket Australia Travel Office postage and handling fee of $20.00 per booking. For Australian residents, match ticket(s) together with hats(s) and package documentation will be delivered by registered post. For security purposes, match ticket(s) and hats(s) for overseas bookings (non-UK residents) will need to be collected in Australia. Collection will be available from a central point in each match city a minimum of three (3) days prior to the commencement of each match.

Can I resell my travel package, or use it for commercial purposes?

You are not permitted to re-sell any match tickets or to use match tickets for advertising, promotional or other commercial purposes without the prior written consent of Cricket Australia. Note: if the ticket is sold or used in contravention of this, the bearer of the ticket may be denied admission to the match.

What happens if the dates of the matches change?

CATO will, subject to availability, rebook your hotel to the new applicable dates, and your tickets will be reissued to allow entry to matches. Should you be unable to travel to the matches due to the change of dates, CATO will use its best endeavors to refund any monies paid.
